Florence Shuman was the wife of Adolph L. Shuman, an advertising director for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. She was born Florence Griswold of Sullivan, Missouri and came to Fort Worth with her husband in 1904. The Shumans were well known for their civic activities in Fort Worth. She was an early member of the Woman's Club.
